2-12-2019 (AfrikMonde.com) Au terme d’une visite d’Etat qu’il a effectuée pendant quatre jours dans les trois départements de la région du Hambol, le Président de la République, Alassane Ouattara, a animé le meeting de clôture au stade Ouattara Thomas d’Aquin de Katiola, le samedi 30 novembre.
Au cours de cette rencontre avec le peuple Tagbana, le chef de l’Etat s’est prononcé sur la question de la présidentielle de 2020. Là-dessus, il a été clair quant à la possibilité pour lui de briguer un autre mandat. « Soyez rassurés, mon intention, c’est bien de passer le pouvoir aux nouvelles générations. Mais, je veux que tous ceux de ma génération comprennent que notre temps est passé, et que nous devons tous nous mettre de côté. Donc, si eux ils deviennent candidats, je serai candidat », a prévenu Alassane Ouattara.
Le message est d’autant plus clair, qu’il reflète l’amour profond que le Chef de l’Exécutif ivoirien manifeste pour la Côte d’Ivoire. Le Président Ouattara a si bien témoigné cet amour, qu’en seulement 8 années d’exercice du pouvoir d’Etat, il a permis à son pays de se repositionner dans le concert des Nations, après une décennie de disette, d’errement et de réclusion sous le pouvoir des refondateurs.
Bien avant, en sa qualité de Premier ministre de 1991 à 1993, il a fortement contribué au redressement économique de la Côte d’Ivoire qui subissait les aléas de plusieurs années de gaspillage. Ce redressement a permis au Président Félix Houphouët-Boigny, que certains avaient fini par livrer à la vindicte populaire, de garder la tête haute. Permettant alors à la Côte d’Ivoire de bénéficier à nouveau de la confiance des bailleurs de fonds. Il a fallu qu’il se retire, après le décès du père fondateur, le 7 décembre 1993, pour que la Côte d’Ivoire renoue avec la spirale de détournements de deniers publics.
C’est donc en homme averti que le Président Alassane Ouattara veut placer des garde-fous au niveau de la gestion des affaires de l’Etat, avant son retrait définitif de la scène politique ivoirienne. Il craint, en effet, que soit sabordé l’immense travail qu’il a accompli dans tous les secteurs d’activité et qui permettent à la Côte d’Ivoire de se repositionner au plan économique avec un niveau de croissance qui tourne autour de 8%, depuis trois années.
Et il n’a pas tort de dire que le pays a besoin d’une nouvelle génération, car tous les principaux leaders politiques enregistrent plus de 30 années d’animation, l’âge de plusieurs cadres compétents dont le pays risque de ne pas bénéficier, tant que la vieille garde refuse de prendre sa retraite. Alassane Ouattara a donc tendu la perche de la retraite à sa génération. A celle-ci de la saisir pour faire place à une nouvelle génération de dirigeants en Côte d’Ivoire. C’est ce péché qui, malheureusement, continue encore d’animer les débats.
