10-12-2019 (AfrikMonde.com) C’est aujourd’hui, mardi 10 décembre 2019, que le Premier ministre éthiopien, Abiy Ahmed Ali, a été auréolé par le prix Nobel de la paix à Oslo en Norvège. Ce prix vient couronner son engagement en faveur de la paix dans la corne de l’Afrique.
Le travail d’Abiy Ahmed Ali dans la résolution du conflit avec l’Erythrée a été salué par la présidente du comité Nobel norvégien, Berit Reiss-Andersen, selon qui le Premier ministre éthiopien s’est inscrit dans la dynamique de paix et de dialogue, en vue d’aboutir à la paix avec le Président Afwerki qui a bien voulu saisir la main que lui tendait son voisin. Mettant alors un terme au conflit vieux de deux décennies qui opposait l’Ethiopie et l’Erythrée.
De fait, fraîchement élu au mois de juin 2018, le Premier ministre Abiy Ahmed Ali a accepté l’accord frontalier signé avec l’Erythrée en 2000. Le faisant, il a réussi à attirer l’attention de toute la communauté internationale sur son action de paix. A la clef, le Prix Félix Houphouët-Boigny de la paix 2019 lui a été décerné par l’Unesco en juin dernier, quand bien même il ne l’a pas encore reçu. Et enfin, le prix Nobel de la paix.
